Emir Rasyid

For some reason, emir is having a shaky start for the tournament. Maybe he is not used to the shorter time control after having a luxury 90minutes +30sec time control in both Penang and Johor tournament.

In the first round, he miss a tactic that cost him 2 pawn, so he is lucky to escape with a draw. In the second round, after winning 2 pawn in the opening, he miscalculate his sacrifice (opponent manage to refute it) that equalize the position back and then somehow in the endgame, he lost by time in what look like a draw endgame. In the third round, he again meet with Shyam Keshaav. In the last of their encounter, they meet in the final round at board 1 of Pahang Open (U12) 2017. So he is a strong player. I personally believe Shyam Keshaav is the strongest of all emir’s 3 opponent today actually. So it was not easy for him to get his first tournament win but he need to try after a disastrous start. Thank god emir manage to register his first win.

So after 3 round, he only manage to score 1.5/3. Lets hope he can improve his position for the rest of the tournament.
