Congratulation to Puteri Munajjah Azhar that become the champion in standard category during 4th Eastern Asia Youth Chess Championship. In virtue of winning the category, she shall be awarded the title of Woman International Master (WIM) together with an IM Norm.

Direct Titles 5.1
Gold medalists of U18 categories shall be awarded the title of International Master (IM) / Woman International Master (WIM). 1st equal player (best 3 after tie break) shall get IM norm. The Silver & Bronze Medal winners shall be awarded the FIDE Master (FM) / Woman FIDE Master (WFM) title.
Munajjah is the third Malaysian WIM after WIM Audrey Wong Su Yi and WIM Siti Zulaikha Foudzi. Both WIM has long retired from tournament play. For example WIM Zulaikha last rated game is in Jan 2008, roughly 10 years ago.
