Mencatatkan mata 7/8, Iwan Schani Ibnu berjaya menjuarai siri pertama dalam IPT Classical U1600 series. Siri pertama ini diadakan di UNITAR dengan mencatat sejumlah 62 peserta.
Antara pusingan yang kritikal adalah apabila beliau berjaya menundukkan pendahulu kejohanan Tan Keigen pada pusingan ke-6.
Kejohanan ini turut mencatat rekod tersendiri apabila berjaya mengupload 172 game notation ke server chess-results.
